Convicted drunk driver brings dram shop suit

A Santa Fe, New Mexico man is doing what most drunk driving accident victims consider unthinkable: he is suing the restaurants where he was drinking before he caused an accident. James Ruiz, the man who caused a fatal accident in March 2010, is claiming that servers at Applebee's restaurant and Blue Corn Café violated state law when they continued to serve him alcohol despite seeing that he was already drunk.

Accident victim's life saved by dual surgeries

A radical (and risky) surgery saved a man's life after he was involved in a car accident. The man was clinging to life as he was brought to the Seton Medical Center Williamson in Austin, Texas when trauma surgeons had a dilemma. Given the severity of his injuries, what operation should be performed first: brain surgery to relieve pressure due to his head injuries or a procedure to repair his bleeding spleen?
