Study: Distracted walking more dangerous than distracted driving

Much has been said about the dangers of distracted driving. Texting while driving has garnered such national attention that it is almost the taboo that drinking and driving has become. Countless campaigns calling for drivers to put their cell phones down while behind the wheel have been endorsed by celebrities, lawmakers and insurance corporations alike.

Chrysler bows to pressure to recall vehicles

In a prior post, we highlighted the request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to Chrysler LLC to recall millions of Jeep Grand Cherokees and Jeep Liberty vehicles. The reasoning behind the recall was that the positioning of the gas tank in the vehicles created a hazard for potential fatal accidents.

Is voice texting actually safe?

A number of our readers in Houston can recall the Chevrolet Cruze commercial that depicts a young man dropping his date at home, then quickly checking his Twitter feed to see how she described her time with him. After speaking a command to his console, a voice responded "best date ever!"

Chrysler will not recall Jeep Cherokees and Libertys

In prior posts, we have noted how the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has conducted investigations and pushed automakers to initiate recalls for defects that raise potential dangers. When recall recommendations come from federal regulators, they are often adhered to.
