Although many drivers try to be vigilant of pedestrians, there are still far too many accidents occurring throughout the country. Sadly, these incidents sometimes result in the loss of life. There are a number of reasons why these accidents continue to occur, including a negligent or distracted driver, failure to yield and busy roads. Whether someone is driving in Houston or any other part of the state, they should always be aware of pedestrians and do everything they can to prevent an auto accident from injuring someone or claiming their life.
Tragically, a 23-year-old man from Beaumont was driving his truck when he ran into a pedestrian who was crossing the street. The incident, which occurred in Beaumont, is still being investigated by authorities.
Law enforcement has released the identity of the person who lost their life, a 63-year-old man who was also from Beaumont. The truck driver was heading west on E. Lucas around 7 a.m. when he collided with the pedestrian. Although the man he struck was transported to a hospital in an ambulance, he passed away due to his significant injuries.
When a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, they could become seriously injured or even killed. If they survive, in addition to living with their injuries they might struggle to pay their hospital bills. If their families lose a loved one, they could have difficulty covering not only hospital expenses but funeral costs as well. Anyone who is dealing with an auto-pedestrian accident could benefit from talking with an attorney.
