With traffic congestion, truck driver fatigue and all of the other factors that can cause truck accidents, it is all too common to hear about another in the news. Sadly, these crashes continue to claim lives and cause significant personal injury. In order to save lives and reduce the frequency of these accidents in Houston and the rest of Texas, everyone should keep the risks in mind while on the road.
A recent multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Houston involved a dump truck and numerous other vehicles. After striking the vehicles, the truck crashed into a barrier and caught on fire. Two people lost their life in this accident and four others suffered injuries.
Because the whole incident was caught on tape, authorities will review the video footage. On the North Belt, westbound lanes were closed, which caused significant traffic problems and frustration amongst drivers, who were unaware of what was going on. It is believed that the dump truck driver lost control after striking the first vehicle, which caused him to collide with the other vehicles.
Although most people are aware of how physically and emotionally upsetting these accidents can be for victims and their families, they can also cause financial problems as well. With hefty medical expenses and funeral costs, some people also struggle with paying the bills that arise after these crashes, which only adds to their pain and suffering. If you are experiencing any of these issues, you could benefit from discussing your situation with a legal professional.
