Although drivers of all types of vehicles should be aware of the dangers while on the road, there are a number of reasons why semi truck drivers should be particularly vigilant. Whether they are driving in Houston or any part of the country, it is impossible to foresee every accident. On top of the size of their trucks, they can also be affected by truck driver fatigue after spending a considerable amount of time behind the wheel. Because a truck accident can be so devastating, people should understand how important it is to prevent these incidents from taking place.
After crashing his semi truck into a thrift store in Austin, a truck driver lost his life. Although the accident is being investigated, there is some evidence to suggest that a medical issue could be to blame. According to a manager, the 18-wheeler caused a great deal of noise and even caused the store to shake after it slammed into the side of the building. Authorities have not released the man's name.
The store, which was closed due to the crash, reopened the following day. However, there was a tarp placed over a hole that was left by the collision. According to experts, the semi was just a matter of feet away from hitting an especially vulnerable part of the building, which could have caused the entire structure to fall down.
When someone is hit by a truck, there are a number of problems that could impact them and their families. Some could have a serious head injury or permanent disability, while others lose their lives. With significant funeral and medical expenses, there can be crippling financial difficulty in addition to emotional pain. If you are struggling with any of this, you may want to consider speaking with an attorney.
