Pedestrian passes away following Houston accident

Whether someone is hit by a car while attempting to cross the road or if a vehicle veers off of the street, the details of pedestrian accidents may vary. However, regardless of the particular ins and outs of a story, too many of them involve a pedestrian who lost their life or suffered serious personal injury. Sadly, many of these accidents could have been prevented. In Houston, there are numerous factors that could play a role in a pedestrian accident, such as a negligent or drunk driver and failure to yield. As a result, drivers need to be aware of pedestrians and make sure that they are not responsible for causing another deadly wreck.

According to authorities, a 51-year-old man attempted to cross a feeder road close to Broadway Street when he was struck by a vehicle. The incident, which took place at roughly 5:30 a.m., caused the man to be sent to the hospital, where he passed away.

Officials said that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was let go after questioning. Authorities did not file charges against the driver but are still investigating the accident. They claim the pedestrian was not using the crosswalk when he was struck.

Most people realize that the physical and emotional toll of pedestrian accidents can be overwhelming. However, the financial hardships do not always receive as much attention (medical expenses, funeral costs, job loss and so on). If someone is in this position and struggling to recover, they could benefit from talking to an attorney.
