When someone is involved in a semi truck crash, there is often a particularly high risk of serious injury and even death. In Houston, Texas, busy roads, poor driving conditions and a distracted or drunk truck driver are some of the factors that contribute to a truck accident, which may cause tremendous pain and suffering for those involved.
As she was driving near Mertzon, Texas, a 42-year old woman from El Paso lost her life after the vehicle she was in collided with a semi truck. The accident took place at roughly 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 67, according to officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officials stated that the semi was trying to turn left when it was struck from behind by the woman, who passed away at the scene of the crash. A 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were also riding in the vehicle with her at the time of the collision and sent to the hospital as a result of their injuries. The accident caused the semi truck to veer off of the road and strike a fence, leaving the truck driver unharmed.
When someone has had their life interrupted as a result of a trucking accident, they should consider their options and do everything they can to recover. For those suffering from considerable financial devastation (lost wages, medical expenses, etc.), taking legal action to receive the compensation they need may be a smart move. Anyone who is going through this and needs assistance could find an attorney to be helpful.
