Texas driver passes away after being struck by SUV

Whenever a fatal car accident claims another life, those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one may experience considerable emotional pain and never fully recover from what happened. In Houston, Texas, these incidents occur for a variety of reasons, such as drunk driving or the reckless negligence of another driver. After losing a family member in a car accident, those who have had their life turned upside down should take a close look at any options which may be available to them, including filing a lawsuit.

According to a spokesman for the Galveston Police Department, investigators believe a van was struck by an SUV that was trying to make a U-turn. Inside of the van was a 72-year-old man, who lost his life, and his wife, who was taken to the hospital due to serious injuries she suffered in the crash. Officials are trying to determine if alcohol played a role in the accident, although no charges have been filed at this time.

The driver of the SUV was also injured and taken to the hospital because of the wreck, which took place at 1:55 p.m. on Seawall Boulevard. The road was shut down and traffic was diverted for over five hours as a result of the collision.

Not only does a fatal accident cause considerable emotional devastation, but the financial impact of these situations can be extremely difficult for families who are already struggling. Medical expenses, funeral costs and lost income are just some of the difficulties that may prompt people to take legal action for the compensation they need. Anyone who is going through this may want to consult an experienced attorney for assistance.
