Texas accident claims life of 46-year-old pedestrian

Whether someone is walking to work or trying to get some exercise, pedestrians take to the road for many reasons. Regrettably, some drivers fail to pay attention to their presence and cause an accident that may result in serious injuries or loss of life. In Houston, Texas, an unsettling number of people have been killed and injured in pedestrian accidents and drivers must remember how important it is to remain vigilant when they get behind the wheel.

The life of a 46-year-old pedestrian was cut short when a vehicle struck the man while he was trying to make his way across N. Central Expressway. The man was reportedly declared dead at the site of the accident, which took place at roughly 12:30 p.m. After the incident, traffic was backed up and the road was temporarily shut down.

Another accident occurred on the Expressway and appears to have resulted from traffic congestion caused by the pedestrian collision. Officials say the accident, which involved three vehicles, left two people hospitalized. Earlier in the day, another deadly pedestrian accident occurred, claiming the life of a man who was attempting to move across Stemmons Freeway.

After a pedestrian accident, victims who are fortunate enough to still be alive may experience a plethora of complications afterward, such as medical bills and physical pain. Negligent drivers who are responsible for a pedestrian's suffering should be held responsible and some pedestrians may want to consider filing a lawsuit. For pedestrians facing these challenges firsthand, speaking to an attorney right away may be a wise decision.
