From debilitating injuries to the loss of life, traffic crashes turn lives upside down in a variety of ways. Sadly, people who are involved in a pedestrian accident often face especially serious consequences in Houston, and throughout Texas. After all, when pedestrians are walking and struck by a truck or car, the impact of the vehicle can be particularly disastrous. Some victims may have broken bones and injuries they will never be able to fully recover from, while others are not able to survive.
A pedestrian accident that recently took place in Friendswood claimed the lives of two people. The two who passed away, a 66-year-old woman and 64-year-old man, were a couple from Clear Lake. The woman lost her life at the accident scene, while the man passed away after being transported to the hospital.
According to law enforcement officials, the couple was attempting to cross FM 528 to watch their grandson perform in a school concert when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver who hit them cooperated with authorities and there have not been any charges filed.
While many people understand the physical consequences of pedestrian accidents, it is important to remember the emotional and financial toll of these accidents as well. For example, a victim of a pedestrian accident may not be able to pay their medical expenses or go to work. For people who are experiencing these hardships, reaching out to an experienced legal professional for assistance may be helpful.
