When a truck accident takes place, a number of questions may arise. Unfortunately, the truth doesn't always come out, even after a lengthy police investigation. As a result, when someone is involved in a semi truck crash or other truck accident, it is important for them to take action right away and make sure that a negligent driver or truck company doesn't get let off the hook. In Houston, Texas, and around the country, people who are trying to recover from an accident should also make sure they understand all of their options if they decide to take legal action.
According to law enforcement officials in Galveston, two teenagers were heading east on Stewart Road at roughly 5:46 in the morning when the truck they were riding in collided with a garbage truck. Both of the teenagers lost their lives in the collision.
Authorities do not know why the 16-year-old who was driving the truck lost control and wonder if he suffered a medical issue before the crash or if a mechanical problem occurred. School officials heard about the accident shortly before school started and said that students were already talking about the collision because of social media.
Moving forward from a tractor-trailer crash or other truck accident can be incredibly difficult. After all, some people who survive these incidents are overwhelmed by medical expenses, severe pain and other setbacks. If you are experiencing any of these hardships or lost a loved one because of a negligent driver, you may want to consider speaking with an attorney.
