Texas pedestrian hurt in accident

From failure to yield to speeding through a crosswalk, there are a number of factors that contribute to pedestrian accidents across the country. Tragically, these accidents continue to claim lives in Houston and throughout Texas. When a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle, they may have to deal with a wide variety of problems, such as a debilitating personal injury or costly medical bills. After someone is hit by a drunk or distracted driver and fortunate enough to survive, they should do everything they can to move forward and ensure that the irresponsible driver is held accountable. After all, when drivers cause a serious crash, they cannot be let off the hook.

Law enforcement officials say a 59-year-old woman was driving her car in Tyler when she struck a 46-year-old pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man who was attempting to cross the street in a wheelchair, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.

The driver of the vehicle was not cited and did not show any signs of intoxication. The pedestrian is in the hospital recovering from the accident, which occurred shortly before 7 p.m. close to the intersection of 2nd Street and South Vine.

Whether someone is struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident or has a difficult time paying medical expenses after a collision, pedestrians face a number of hardships when their life is turned upside down because of a negligent driver. As a result, people who have experienced these difficulties firsthand should closely evaluate their legal options and may want to consider talking with an attorney.
